The Weary Blues is also the name Langston Hughes' debut poetry collection. Its publication was a hit and won Hughes several awards. The book included several of his most know poems today such as, "The Weary Blues," "The Negro Speaks of Rivers" and several others. Hughes intended for the poems to be read in Harlem jazz clubs (like the previous video) and as such, have a lyrical pace and a rhythm to them.
